Justin Patrick Herbert (born March 10, 1998) is an American professional football quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Oregon, leading the Ducks to a Pac-12 Championship in 2019. Herbert was then selected by the Chargers as the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Herbert took over as the Chargers' starting quarterback in the second game of his rookie season and held the position for the remainder of the year. He set multiple rookie records, including most touchdown passes and 300-yard games, earning him the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honor. In 2021, he became the first quarterback in franchise history to throw for over 5,000 yards and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. Prior to the 2023 season, he signed a five-year, $262.5 million contract extension.
