She has achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 by the WTA and No. 124 in doubles, as of April 25, 2022. Badosa has won four singles titles on the WTA Tour, including a prestigious WTA 1000 title at Indian Wells, and reached the semifinals at the 2025 Australian Open.

As a junior, Badosa achieved a career-high ranking of No. 8 in the world and won the 2015 French Open junior title. Turning professional, she broke into the top 100 in 2019, and a fourth-round finish at the 2020 French Open propelled her into the top 70. Badosa made significant progress in 2021 following a breakthrough clay season, capturing her first career title in Belgrade. She then entered the top 10 after winning the WTA 1000 title at Indian Wells and reached a career-high ranking of No. 2 in early 2022. However, a series of injuries saw her drop out of the top 100 by early 2024, but she made a strong comeback in the second half of the year, returning to the top 15 and earning the Comeback Player of the Year award.
